TEXA AP57 diagnostic cable – serial diagnostics for Harley-Davidson motorcycles
TEXA AP57 is a universal diagnostic cable designed for serial diagnostics of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. It is designed as one end-to-end solution, replacing several older diagnostic leads, and supports a wide range of models – both older and newer.
The product is part of TEXA’s professional diagnostic system and works with IDC6 BIKE software.
Construction of the AP57 cable
The AP57 cable consists of three connectors, which allows you to support different generations of Harley-Davidson motorcycles:
-
4-pin diagnostic connector – for models manufactured before 2012,
-
6-pin diagnostic connector – for models manufactured from 2012,
-
2-pin power connector – for powering the tester directly from the vehicle’s battery (12V).
Rules of Proper Use
-
Only one diagnostic connector (4-pin or 6-pin) needs to be connected to the motorcycle, depending on the model and year.
-
The 2-pin power connector should only be connected to the battery when the scan tool is not powered from the motorcycle’s diagnostic socket.
This solution ensures safe and stable communication with the control units.
Diagnostic capabilities
In combination with the TEXA interface and the IDC6 BIKE software, the AP57 cable enables:
-
reading and clearing fault codes,
-
preview of real parameters (Live Data),
-
tests of actuators,
-
reset service inspections,
-
identification of drivers and software versions,
-
access to technical data and service procedures (depending on the license).
The range of functions depends on the specific model and year of the motorcycle.
Successor to older cables
The AP57 replaces earlier models of TEXA diagnostic leads:
-
AP10
-
AP17
-
AP35
This allows a single cable to handle a full cross-section of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, simplifying workshop equipment.
