Valve clearance adjustment tool – glass lock

A specialized tool that locks tappets and valve glasses, designed to adjust valve clearance on selected Kawasaki and Yamaha motorcycles with DOHC engines. It enables safe and precise replacement of valve plates without removing the camshafts, significantly reducing service time.
The tool securely locks the glasses in the lower position, providing free access to the adjustment plates.

Instructions for use (abbreviation):

Turn the engine shaft and position the camshaft so that the valve glasses are pushed in as much as possible.

Tighten the tool and lock the glasses in the lower position.

Rotate the engine shaft for maximum clearance between the camshaft and the tappets.

Replace the valve plates (e.g. with tweezers) that are now available.

Once the plates are placed, turn the motor shaft to tension the glass system, then remove the tool – no longer loaded.
NOTE – important recommendation:
Do not use magnetic grippers as they can magnetize the valve plates, which promotes the attraction of metal particles while the engine is running.
(Only allowed after subsequent demagnetization of the plates.)
