Marine & PWC Bench-Boot is a protocol that allows ECUs to be programmed outside the vessel (on the table) in BENCH/BOOT mode for Marine motors and PWC jet skis. This solution allows full access to the ECU in situations where programming via OBD is impossible, blocked, or when the controller needs to be recovered.
The protocol is designed to work with Alientech KESS3 systems, and is a standard tool in professional marine services.
Application:
-
programming of outboard and stationary motors (Marine) outside the unit
-
PWC / Jet Ski Jet Ski ECU Support
-
operation in BOOT mode (forcing processor service mode)
-
ECU unlocking, recovery after failed save
-
Tuning and advanced repairs of marine electronics
Key benefits:
-
Full ECU access regardless of OBD interlocks
-
Stable bench operation with controlled power supply
-
Essential for ECU recovery after updates or damage
-
Wide compatibility with modern Marine and PWC controllers
-
Full integration with KESS3 and the Alientech protocol database
Function range (ECU dependent):
-
full flash memory reading
-
Saving Modified Software
-
Write Unlock / Recovery Mode
-
performing a complete ECU backup*
* Scope of operation depends on the specific type of controller.
Supported segments:
-
Marine motors (outboard/inboard)
-
PWC jet skis
-
Recreational and sports units
-
selected EIF systems used in marine
Additional information:
-
protocol available as license / activation
-
requires dedicated Bench/Boot cables
-
operation requires opening the ECU
-
list of supported models depends on the current Alientech database
